Convert Telegram Opus voice messages to MP3
Telegram voice messages and exported audio can use Opus because it keeps speech clear while keeping file sizes small. MP3 is often easier to open in editors, transcription tools, publishing systems, and older media players.

How to save Telegram audio

Recommended setting
For voice messages, 128 kbps or 192 kbps is usually enough. Higher bitrates create larger files and rarely improve speech recordings in a useful way. If the recording contains music or background sound you care about, 192 kbps is a better default than 128 kbps.
If you are converting a Telegram message for transcription, choose 128 kbps for short speech clips and 192 kbps for recordings with multiple speakers or noisy backgrounds. If you are preparing the file for editing, keep the original Opus file too, because MP3 conversion is meant for compatibility rather than restoration.
Common reasons conversion fails
A Telegram file may fail if the export was incomplete, the file is not actually Opus audio, or the browser cannot decode that container on your operating system. Try a desktop version of Chrome, Edge, or Firefox, and keep the file under the current 100 MB browser-side conversion limit.
If the file came from a Telegram data export, open the media folder and select the audio file directly. Do not select a compressed export archive or a preview file. Testing one small voice message first is the fastest way to confirm the workflow.
