Privacy
Your audio stays in your browser
OpusMP3 is a static browser-based converter. The selected audio file is processed locally by your browser and is not uploaded to a backend server by this site.
This privacy page is intentionally plain: the main privacy benefit of OpusMP3 is that conversion happens on your device. The site creates an MP3 download in the browser after you choose a file, rather than sending your source audio to a remote conversion queue.
Files
Files you choose are used only for the current conversion session. Reloading or closing the page clears the selected file and generated download URL.
OpusMP3 does not ask for your email address, does not require signup, and does not intentionally collect file names, audio content, or converted MP3 files.
Analytics
This MVP does not include analytics scripts. If analytics are added later, keep them privacy-friendly and avoid collecting file names or audio contents.
Encoder script
The page includes an unmodified, separately loaded copy of the
lamejs MP3 encoder, which is based
on the LAME project and distributed
under the LGPL. The deployed repository includes its notice at
/assets/vendor/lamejs-LICENSE. The audio file itself remains in the
browser during conversion.
Practical limits
Browser-local conversion uses your own device memory and browser audio support. For very sensitive files, use a trusted personal device and keep your browser and operating system up to date.
